While many times it is the guys or gals scoring the goals getting the attention, it is often the play of a teammate that set them up for their success. While those assists sometimes go lost in the shadows, a member of the Hopkinsville Tigers is among the state of Kentucky’s best ever at getting his teammates the ball just when they need it.
With two assists Tuesday night in Hopkinsville’s 8-0 win over Trigg County, Ethan Noel reached 107 assists for his high school career. That mark tied the one set by North Hardin’s Micah Linscott from 2013-16.
With the playoffs coming up, it figures that Noel will become the state’s all-time leader before the season is over.
Noel had 13 assists his freshman year, 32 as a sophomore, and 28 as a junior.
Not only is he a standout on the soccer field, but Noel has also received several honors for his work in the classroom.
Ethan is the son of Tim and Cindy Noel.
