Junior Austin Spears has been Lyon County’s masher this season with a team-leading four home runs and a .375 batting average.
Spears had two home runs this past week as the Lyons rolled to wins over Caldwell County and Crittenden County on the way to a 2nd Region All A Classic championship.
Spears credited Lyon County basketball assistant coach Tom Rooyakkers as being an inspirational influence on the team and said the Lyons have big plans on the diamond.
The Lyons will host Carlisle County on Friday in an All A Classic sectional game, with a berth in the state tournament in Richmond on the line.
